YUI is a domestic submarine cable network within Japan, connecting 4 coastal and island locations including Hirara, Naha, Nakadomari, Shiraho. The system provides essential telecommunications infrastructure for communities that would otherwise depend entirely on satellite or microwave links. Japan's island geography makes it one of the most cable-dependent nations on Earth, with dozens of domestic submarine systems connecting its archipelago. GeoCables monitors this system's performance through regular RIPE Atlas probe measurements, analyzing RTT patterns to detect degradation before it impacts end users.
