It provides dedicated submarine fiber capacity between these locations, supporting telecommunications, internet access, and enterprise connectivity. Japan's island geography makes it one of the most cable-dependent nations on Earth, with dozens of domestic submarine systems connecting its archipelago. This cable is part of GeoCables' continuous monitoring program — RIPE Atlas probes measure latency around the clock, flagging anomalies when RTT deviates significantly from established baselines.
