Thailand hosts three submarine cable landing points, with Songkhla being the most significant hub for international connectivity. Key cables such as the FLAG Europe-Asia (FEA) and Asia Africa Europe-1 (AAE-1), both inaugurated in the late 1990s and early 2017 respectively, contribute to Thailand's strategic position along the Indo-Pacific route. Additionally, the SeaMeWe-4 cable, established in 2005, and more recent additions like the Asia-America Gateway (AAG) Cable System from 2009, Southeast Asia-Japan Cable 2 (SJC2), Asia Pacific Gateway (APG), Asia Direct Cable (ADC), and MIST, all landing at various cities including Songkhla, Satun, and Sriracha, underscore Thailand's role in the region. These cables primarily serve the Indo-Pacific region via the South Pacific coast.
