The landing point at Cox’s Bazar hosts three submarine cables, making it the most connected cable hub in Bangladesh. These include the
SeaMeWe-6 cable, scheduled to be ready for service in 2026, the
SeaMeWe-4 cable, operational since 2005, and the
Bangladesh Private Cable System (BPCS), also set to launch in 2026.
The SeaMeWe-6 cable is a massive 21,700-kilometer network linking Cox’s Bazar to 16 other landing points across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, including Marseille, Mumbai, and Djibouti City. This cable will further enhance Bangladesh’s connectivity to global data centers and internet exchanges. Similarly, the SeaMeWe-4 cable, spanning 20,000 kilometers, connects Cox’s Bazar to 15 other points, including Alexandria, Marseille, and Chennai, providing international bandwidth that has supported Bangladesh’s digital growth for nearly two decades.
The Bangladesh Private Cable System (BPCS), though much shorter at 1,300 kilometers, is a domestic cable designed to strengthen internal connectivity and reduce reliance on international routes for local data traffic. Together, these cables make Cox’s Bazar a critical node in Bangladesh’s telecommunications network.

Bangladesh has four submarine cables landing across two points: Cox’s Bazar and
Kuakata. While Kuakata hosts just one cable, Cox’s Bazar stands out as the primary hub, with three cables landing here. This concentration of infrastructure highlights Cox’s Bazar’s importance in linking Bangladesh to the broader global network.
