Submarine cables in this region contribute to a mesh of redundant paths that keep internet traffic flowing even when individual systems are damaged or under maintenance. GeoCables maintains health checks on this cable using distributed RIPE Atlas probes, with automated anomaly detection triggered when RTT exceeds 4x the historical baseline.
